Discover the Artistry of Our Loch Lomond Whisky Barrel Stave Taster Board / Coaster
Calling all whisky and port enthusiasts! Our handcrafted taster board and coaster celebrate the rich heritage of oak casks and the distinctive character they impart. Here’s what makes these pieces truly special:
Preserving the Patina: We intentionally avoid over-sanding to retain the authentic patina of the oak cask. The metal rings and signs of age add to the charm, as does the subtle “burning” process during the barrel construction.
Crafted with Care: The idea for our flight boards originated from a customer’s request for a well-finished board still with patina. Dissatisfied with a previous purchase, they challenged us to create something better—and we did! Their satisfaction speaks volumes.
Flight / Server Board History – These were used (60/70s) to pass drinks to passengers in the window or middle seats without having to lean across the aisle seat passenger. Now developed into either a server or presentation board to compliment your favourite “Dram”.
Spill-Resistant Finish: Each board is sealed with a blend of oil and wax, ensuring it’s spill-resistant and ready for use.
Thoughtful Design: The base is lined with felt to protect surfaces from scratches—a detail often overlooked in other designs.
Customizable Options:
Inserts: Two 51mm diameter port wine felt inserts are included – If purchasing without glasses or water jug, please note the insert size.
Glasses: Choose between having “The Glencairn” taster glass/glasses (200ml capacity), water jug or opting for just the coaster.
Custom Combinations: Need a different mix of board, coaster (also listed in my shop), and glasses? Contact us for personalized options.
Approximate Size: Excluding glasses, the dimensions are 28cm x 8cm x 3cm (LxWxD) or approximately 11″ x 3″ x 1″.
